Rotisserie chicken is easy to do and one of the best ways to cook chicken. Add in some smoke, a great seasoning, and you have meal that the family will love.

Tip

Tie your chicken up tight and balanced so it doesn't overwork the motor.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

  • Smoke N' Dudes Chicken Rub

  • 1 Whole chicken

Directions

  • Open chicken and remove any giblets if it has some

  • Pour oil over chicken and rub into meat

  • Put a generous coating of rub all over the chicken

  • Tie up chicken - tie wings close to body so they don't burn

  • Put chicken on rotisserie

  • Cook at 350-400F until breast hits 165F

  • Use your favorite wood to smoke, hickory is common

This is one of those recipes where there is a little prep and then you let your grill do the rest of the work. Depending on the size of the chicken it will cook 45 mins to 75 minutes in most cases.

Cook until 160-165F in the breast and legs (do not touch the bone). Cover and let rest 10-15 minutes before carving. Juices should run clear when you cut the meat.
