Which Is Better? Goldee's vs Franklin Brisket Challenge
Which Seasoning Is Better?
Once you try brisket on an offset, you will finally realize why so many people love it. It’s a lot of work, but oh so worth it.
The Battle
I decided to order some Goldee’s Brisket Rub and Franklin’s Brisket Rub with their BBQ Spice. Since Franklin’s BBQ Rub is only salt and pepper, the BBQ Spice will add some additional flavor.
The Setup
I trimmed both briskets and put a good heavy coat of the rubs on both briskets. I kept it as equal as possible to tell which one I liked better.
I smoked these briskets until about 180F and then wrapped them in paper. Then, I put them back on the offset until they were around 195F and held them in my oven overnight.
One oven ran hotter than I expected, so one was overcooked. However, the flavor on both was amazing!
