How To Use The Komodo Kamado Cold Smoker
The Komodo Kamado cold smoker can be used as a stand alone unit for cold smoke or you can use it as part of a normal smoke session to add a nice clean smoke to your cook.
*In this video I put the smoking tube in backwards. The mesh part should go inside the chamber.
Cold Smoke or Extra Clean Smoke
In this video I show you how to use the Komodo Kamado cold smoker. The Komodo Kamado cold smoker can be used as a stand alone unit for cold smoke or you can use it as part of a normal smoke session to add a nice clean smoke to your cook.
The cold smoking unit uses an adjustable aquarium pump so you can control the amount of air. You want enough air to keep the wood burning and the flow of smoke into the chamber.
Tips
Use quality pellets - Pellets last longer, but it’s important to use quality 100% wood pellets
Wood chips or small blocks work as well - This just tend to burn quicker.
Dry out the wood - No matter where you store your pellets or wood, it will have some moisture. For the best results, put your pellets or wood into a microwave for 2-3 minutes until it stops steaming. This will make sure you have the driest wood possible, and will burn hassle free in the cold smoker.
Experiment with woods - All woods add a different flavor profile, don’t be afraid to try new woods!
